Exploration of Data Spaces in VR in the Context of Museological Cultural Heritage Collections
V-aRt-Explorer is concerned with the exploration of data spaces in VR in the context of museological cultural heritage collections. Its objective is to let users gain better understanding and insight into a given data set by providing intuitive forms of real time interaction with the data as well as rendering comprehensible spatial visual representation that offer more context, in particular by giving reference to geographical aspects of the data. Thoughtful attention is given to visualization fidelity. Using immersive VR technology for the exploration task unveils new perspectives on the data on display for the viewer and results in increased user engagement.
